The Upper and Lower State Championships will be played this week.  The Championships feature a best of three series with each team hosting one of the first two games.  The third game will be played at a neutral site if available. 

Games are scheduled for Monday May 24, Wednesday May 26, and Friday May 28, as necessary.  Below are the matchups for the 1A, 3A, 4A, and 5A championships.   Winners from the Upper and Lower Championships will face off for the State Title.

*The 2A State Championships will be approximately 1 week behind due to some legislative rulings and appeals last week

Class 5A

Upper State

Hillcrest vs. Dorman

• Dorman will be at home on MON 5/24
• Hillcrest will host on WED 5/26
• Dorman went 3-1 in the District Tourney, scoring 44 runs in 4 games
• Hillcrest went 2-1 in the District tourney, only giving up 6 runs in their 3 wins

 

Lower State

Berkeley vs. Summerville

• Summerville will be at home on MON 5/24
• Berkeley will host on WED 5/26
• Summerville went 3-0 in the District Tourney, beating Lexington once & Wando twice
• Berkeley went 4-1 in the District Tourney, beating Dutch Fork twice on Championship night

Upper State

Lugoff-Elgin vs. AC Flora

• Lugoff-Elgin will host on MON 5/24
• AC Flora will be at home on WED 5/26
• Lugoff-Elgin went 4-1 in the District Tourney, giving up 6 runs in their 4 wins
• AC Flora went 3-0 in the District Tourney, out scoring their opponents 30-6

 

Lower State

James Island vs. Beaufort

• James Island will host the MON 5/24 game
• Beaufort will be home on WED 5/26
• James Island went 3-1 in the District Tourney, only surrendering 5 runs in the 4 games
• Beaufort went 4-1 in the District Tourney, giving up just 2 runs in their 4 wins
