The NCAA Early Signing Period started November 13th and runs through November 20th. Members of the Class of 2020 in most sports are allowed to sign their National Letters of Intent this week, which will solidify verbal commitments into signings. With arrival of the Signing Period, we get a chance to start to really look at the incoming classes each school in Virginia and DC has assembled and the potential impact those players will have when they get to college.

After having broken down the expected signing classes for each of the Virginia/DC Division I schools last week, today we are going to rank the incoming classes. Below are the schools that we think have the top 5 incoming classes, as well as the total number of signees. Also in the table will be the number of incoming players currently ranked in Prep Baseball Report's Overall 2020 Top 500 as well as the number of players that are ranked in the Top 50 in their home state or province's rankings. Finally we will highlight a few impact players in each team's signing class.

Look for the return of the PBR VA/DC Podcast in the middle of the week for a more detailed analysis of the incoming classes and our rankings.

***These rankings are based on the players we expect to sign at each school during the Early Signing Period. We will revisit them in the spring after the Late Signing Period as incoming classes shift***

Quick Notes

-The Wahoos' class is highlighted by a pair of players in the overall Top 20, LHP Nate Savino (Potomac Falls, VA) and C Kyle Teel (Mahwah, NJ). Behind them, the class remains strong with six more players in the Top 300 in our overall rankings. OF Alex Greene (DeMatha, MD) has the potential to be an immediate impact bat and LHP Jake Berry (Bishop O'Connell, VA) has made a huge jump in 2019 and still has a lot of potential.

-The Hokies are bringing in a big class that is highlighted by OF Jack Hurley (State College, PA) and RHP Christian Worley (Halifax County, VA). Its a deep and balanced class that has all but 2 players ranked in their home state's Top 30. Other potential impact players include SS Gehrig Ebel (Baylor, TN) and RHP Jenner Kehe (Lakewood, CO).

-The Flames have a small high school class coming in but what their class lacks in size it certainly makes up for in starpower. SS Quade Tomlin (Liberty Christian, VA) and RHP Trey Gibson (Grafton, VA) are both ranked very highly with Tomlin having a chance to walk straight into the lineup and Gibson getting MLB Draft buzz. SS/RHP Ethan McCormick (Archbishop Spalding, MD) and RHP Nicholas Willard (York, VA) both have a lot of projection and have a chance to have a big impact.

-Old Dominion also has a smaller class that is led by dynamic two-way talent SS/RHP Kenneth Levari (St. Augustine Prep, NJ). SS Carter Trice (Lee-Davis, VA) has some very loud tools and RHP Luke Vaks (Cedar Creek, NJ) has a lot of projection and upside on the mound.

-The Rams have a big group coming in that is deep. Headlining it is LHP Andrew Ward (Fluvanna County) who could form a strong 1-2 punch on the mound in this class with RHP Braedin Hunt (Christian Brothers, NJ). The Rams have begun to tap into Canada and have a pair of high upside arms coming in LHP Campbell Ellis (Christ the King, Ontario) and Justin Humenay (Taft School, Quebec).
