Welcome to the VA/DC Scoreboard. This year we will run our scoreboards on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We will always be sure to include scores and brief recaps of games involving Power 25 teams and will strive to get as many of the rest of the scores from the Commonwealth and the District as well.

 

Saturday 3/30

No. 1 Benedictine 11, Potomac School 1
Jack Hall was 2-3 with 2 2Bs and 2 RBIs and Jay Woolfolk was 2-3 with a 3B and an RBI.

No. 8 Miller School 6, Steward 2

Junior Garrett Payne (NC State) struck out 7 in 6 innings while also going 2-3 with 2 RBIs. Ethan Chenault (UNC Wilmington) was 2-2 with an RBI and Jacob Exum had a triple and 2 RBIs in the win.

No. 8 Miller School 6, Covenant 1
Simon Lewellen and Ian Haney combined to allow just two hits and strike out 11 for Miller while JAck Carey had 2 RBIs for the Mavericks.

No. 16 Hanover 15, Kempsville 1
Blake Doggett was 3-3 with a 2B and an RBI and Brandon Taylor was 2-4 with 3 RBIs. 

No. 19 Salem (Roanoke) 5, Christiansburg 4
An entertaining back-and-forth game late saw the Spartans score three in the top of the seventh to take a 5-2 lead and then hang on to win. Michael Morrison was 3-3 and Michael Wright had 2 RBIs for Salem while Reagan Harris homered and had 2 RBIs for Christiansburg.

No. 21 Wilson (DC) 22, Ron Brown 2
Amartya Eswaran- King had a home run as he, Alex Hill, and John Lasser all had 3 RBIs in the Tigers' win.

LCA slugged four home runs in the game with Quade Tomlin (Liberty) going yard twice and Pell Collins (Liberty) and Jacob Williams (Middle Tennessee St) also going deep. Christian Gordon (Liberty) struck out 13 in 6 innings.

Liam Deegan (Virginia) had a home run and 2 RBIs and Sam Essex (CNU) was also 2-3 with 2 RBIs. Sam Landess (James Madison) threw 4 innings of 3-hit ball in the win. 

No. 13 Lake Braddock 10, WT Woodson 0
Jay Cassady threw a 5 inning, 2-hit shutout and struck out 6. Lyle Miller-Green (George Mason) had a home run and Bobby Leitzel (Marymount) had 3 RBIs for the Bruins. 

No. 15 Highland School 16, Potomac School 6
Joe DeBardi (Mt. St. Mary's) was 3-3 with 3 2Bs and 3 RBIs and Eddie Gimbel was 3-3 with 2 RBIs.

No. 17 Jefferson Forest 2, Brookville 0
Brock Duff and Brennan Abbott combined to no-hit the Cavaliers, but JF was able to draw 9 walks in the game and turned two of them into runs. Griffin Agee (Virginia) struck out 13 in 5 innings of 1-hit ball to earn the win.

Cave Spring 5, No. 19 Salem (Roanoke) 4
David Adams delivered a pinch-hit walk-off single as Cave Spring upset the Spartans. Grant Wilson, AJ Cacciatore, Andrew Neighbors, and Holden Wilkerson all had multi-hit days in the win and Spencer Craig drove in two runs.

Aiden Kuhle (Roanoke) and Alex Gianascolli threw a perfect game and struck out all 15 hitters they faced. Kuhle was 2-3 with 4 RBIs and Kyle Edwards was 2-3 with 3 RBIs.
