top 5
‘24 RHP Zach Swanson (Toutle Lake) continues his hold on the #1 spot and has yet to show any signs of slowing down. Rather he has further separated himself from the pack and established himself as a prominent arm on the national scene. Most recently, the talented righty was up to 95 mph at Area Codes while continuing to manipulate a sharp SL. Strong, physical build with starter profile. Oregon State commit.
‘24 OF Jackson Hotchkiss (Battle Ground) - A huge riser not just at the state level but on the national scene. There isn’t a single position player who has done more to elevate their stock in the last 6 months than Hotchkiss. After lighting up the Preseason All-State event with his above average tools, he put together a huge performance at Area Codes against elite competition. The physical OF prospect has big power potential with plus speed and will garner significant MLB Draft buzz in 2024. Washington commit.
‘24 SS/RHP Adam Haight (Cedar Park Christian) stays in the top 5 with another strong year of performance under his belt while showing consistent, steady improvement in his tools and power output. Smooth, fluid defender with clean actions that will keep him on the dirt with the arm talent to keep him a 2-way prospect at the next level. Oregon State commit
‘24 LHP Karsten Sweum (Glacier Peak) is our top ranked pitcher in the state after Swanson. The powerful lefty continues to show a FB in the low 90s with heavy life and aptitude for spinning a firm, sharp SL. Competitive demeanor with chance to stick as a starter long-term. Gonzaga commit.
‘24 OF Grady Woodward (Eastlake) has some of the best pure athleticism in the class to pair with his bat speed and raw power. A state champion this year for the Eastlake Wolves, Woodward can physically make plays on the diamond that very few players can match. Washington commit
Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 is 4 players who have been prominently featured in the rankings prior plus one huge riser. ‘24 SS Jace Hampson (Lynnwood/Oregon), ‘24 C Kai Halstead (Puyallup/Stanford), ‘24 RHP Noah Sorensen (North Kitsap/Oregon State) and ‘24 RHP Tyler Jones (Woodinville/Uncommitted) plus newly committed ‘24 RHP Kellan Knox (Tenino/Oregon).
knox lands in top 10
Knox really came into his own this year on the mound and established himself as one of the top arms in the state with his combination of a FB at 90-91 and hard SL at 81. Athletically he moves easily through his delivery with a clean arm path and late, controlled intent. Given his low mileage arm and easy operation, it’s easy to envision an additional jump in the pure stuff as he continues to develop.
Stay tuned for more content coming from this latest update, including additional ‘risers’ and new additions to the list.
