Throughout the West Virginia high school baseball regular season we will be posting a Power 5 in each classification. Updates will be made for Class AAA on Mondays, AA on Tuesdays and A on Wednesdays. Check back frequently at PBR West Virginia to follow team and individual results from the previous week. Today we take a a look at our Week Three AA top 5.

BRIDGEPORT

Summary:

Bridgeport finally got their season underway with a 3-0 week. Individual statistics were not available.

CHAPMANVILLE

PBR Ranked Players:

Summary:

Chapmanville Regional was 3-1 on the week with their lone loss coming at the hands of #4 Wayne. Pitching was the key to the week for the Tigers. Josh Zigmund went six innings, allowing no earned runs, in a win over Scott. J.D. Ferrell then recorded a 5 IP, O ER, 8 K line in beating Spring Valley. Dakota Collins put together a solid offensive week, gong 5-for-12 with three runs scored and two RBI.

Summarry

The Generals are challenging to move up after an impressive 4-0 week that included two one run victories over #4 Wayne. Brett Morris continued to carry the offensive load going 7-for-9, scoring nine runs and driving home eight. Peyton Gillispie again proved to be a valuable relief arm. He totaled 6.2 innings pitched, allowing one earned run and picked up the second win over Wayne. Nick Edwards was impressive in a complete game, 11 strikeout win, over Spring Valley.

WAYNE

2. Jeremiah Milum, 3B/RHP, #32 PBR West Virginia Class of 2018 Rankings

Summary:

Wayne holds tenuously to the #4 slot after after a 2-2 week which saw a big win over #2 Chapmanville and two one run losses to number #3 Winfield. Lead off hitter Isaiah Thompson was an on base machine going 7-for-12 while scoring five runs. Zach Perry also had a solid 6-for-12 week, scoring five times. Wyatt and Jeremiah Milum were overpowering in the win over Chapmanville. The duo recorded seventeen of the twenty-one outs by strikeout.

FRANKFORT

PBR Ranked Players:

1. Blake Wasson, RH/OF, #2 PBR West Virginia Class of 2018 Rankings, Kent State Commit

2 .Zack Whitacre, SS/RHP, #11 PBR West Virginia Class of 2019 Rankings 

Summary:

Frankfort picked up a 7-3 win in their only game of the week. Blake Wasson, Brendan Whiteman and Nick Corwell all recorded multi-hit games combining for a 6-for-11, 3 R, 3 RBI line. Zack Whitacre pitched three hitless innings in relief.
