Calvin Pastel (Shenandoah) faced off against Rojo Prarie as Lake Braddock hosted West Springfield for the Regional Championship.  Prarie worked a three up three down in the first to get the game off to a quick start.  In the bottom of the first with two outs Matt Thomas and Lyle Miller-Green singled but were stranded by Pastel to end the inning.

The Bruins would strike first in second when Peter Buschman reached on an error, advanced to third on a double by Ryan Baker.  Pinch hitter Peter O’Grady-Walsh calmly stepped to the plate and stroked an RBI single.  This would prove to be the only run that Pastel would allow in a complete game victory.

The Spartans would score in third, fourth and sixth innings.  Samuel Treasure led off the third with a walk, followed by Alec Reilly who hit an RBI double to bring the score to 1 apiece.  This brought Pastel to the plate who was hitting for himself in the leadoff spot and he homered, driving in two.  In the fourth Kyle Mittauer would lead off with a double, Justin Nelson singled and Treasure laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to score the run.  In the sixth Treasure would strike again with a two-RBI double and Reilly would single to drive in the seventh run.

After the second inning Pastel would only allow two runners on base and both would not advance past first.  Pastel’s final line was 7.0 innings pitched, 1 run, 5 hits and 7 strikeouts.  Reilly and Treasure had 5 RBI combined from the eight and nine slots in the line up.
