In the Chicago Public League Semifinals at Wrigley Field: Whitney Young scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh to stun Lane Tech 7-6 on Friday.

 

The Dolphins scored two runs on a wild pitch, two runs on bases loaded walks and then won it on a Lane Tech error to advance to the Chicago Public League championship game.

 

In the other semifinal game, Taft slipped past Payton 3-2 in eight innings. Perennial city power Whitney Young and Taft will play for the CPL championship on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at U.S Cellular Field.

 

In another game:

 

Andrew (22-10) blasted No. 6 Providence 11-1 in a nonconference game on Friday. Andrew’s Lewis University-bound RHP Tom Durkin fired a two-hitter at the Catholic Blue Champs, who fell to 24-10. T-Bolt Kyle Bogdal hammered a pair of homers and drove in five runs for the Southwest Suburban Red co-champions.
