Miller, Sweeney and Johnson commit



Austin Miller, a 6-foot, 165-pound SS from Grayslake Central, has committed to Butler University. Miller is one of the best defensive shortstops in the state. He possesses an ultra-quick transfer, soft hands, good feet and a solid arm across the field. In addition to playing superlative defense, Miller also tallied 5 home runs, 12 doubles, 29 RBI while batting .345 as a junior for the Rams. He also stole 14 bases. ?

Kane Sweeney, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound left-handed hitting 3B/1B from Belleville West HS, has committed to Morehead State University. The physically impressive corner infielder has been producing big offensive numbers since being called up as a sophomore, when he batted .540 with 7 doubles. Sweeney confirmed his hitting prowess last spring, as he led Belleville West with a .468 batting average. He also tallied 13 doubles, 3 home runs, 29 RBI and 27 runs while maintaining a .607 on-base percentage and a .747 slugging percentage.  ?

Keenan Johnson, an athletic left-handed hitting outfielder from Lake Forest Academy HS, has committed to Indiana University. Johnson is a top-level athlete, as he showed at the Prep Baseball Report Top Prospect Showcase by running a 6.8 60.
