Day 3 of the Major League Baseball Draft concluded Wednesday. Twenty Illinois players were selected in rounds 30 through 50, 11 of which were prep athletes.

In all, 46 Illinois-based players had their names called, a slightly below-average total from years past. On Tuesday, five prep players were selected, with New Trier outfielder Charlie Tilson being the highest draft in the state, a second-round pick by the Cardinals.

The first Illinois player picked on Wednesday was LHP Kyle Hunter, a former Galesburg HS standout who is now at Kansas State. Galesburg had another representative when Silver Streak senior RHP Tyler Farrell was selected in the 43^rd round by the Yankees.

Other prep standouts who were picked on Wednesday include: Ottawa Marquette RHP Joe Ceja (38^th round), Providence 3B Sam Travis (40^th round), Hersey RHP Joe Perricone (40^th round) and Harrisburg 3B Keelin Rasch (41^st round), to name a few.
