More players pick their schools

Ty Hogan, a 6-foot-1, 165-pound catcher from Naperville North HS, has committed to Western Kentucky University. As arguably the most athletic catcher in the class, Hogan missed the majority of his junior season with a broken leg. Determined to come back stronger than ever, Hogan showed no ill-effects of his injury this fall. He was perhaps the most impressive player at the Fall Prospect Program, where he ran a 6.81 60 and flourished on a weekly basis with his all-around catching abilities. Offensively, he has quick hands and makes consistent hard contact.

Emmanuel Morris, an athletic 5-foot-10, 180-pound C/INF from Hinsdale South HS, has committed to Villanova University. Morris has flown under the radar due to knee injuries during his freshman and sophomore years. However, he proved to be a dynamic performer during his junior year. At the plate, Morris batted .392 with 14 extra-base hits and 36 RBI. A 6.8 runner, Morris is an extremely athletic catcher who showed arm strength at several summer events. His athleticism and arm strength also translate in the middle infield.

Morris is the third Illinois Class of 2012 prospect Villanova has landed, joining Rolling Meadows MIF Eric Lowe and Libertyville OF Nick Coutre.

Jordan Crawford, a RHP from Evanston HS, has committed to Winthrop University.
