More prospects pick their schools

Illinois Central College landed one of the state?s biggest sleepers when it received a commitment from Brock Adcock, a LHP from Illinois Valley Central HS. Adcock posted a 6-0 record with a 2.40 ERA and 68 strikeouts in 46 innings last year on the Grey Ghosts? Class 2A third-place squad. Adcock should be the team?s ace this season as IVC goes for yet another state trophy.

Oakton CC landed a pair of prospects when it received commitments from Glenbrook North MIF Brett Synek and Mundelein OF/C Billy McMahon. The 5-foot-9 Synek is a hard-nosed left-handed hitter who?s been a staple in the Spartans? middle infield since his sophomore year. Synek has quick and compact swing at the plate, which he uses to drive the ball to all fields. Defensively, he has athletic actions, soft hands and a solid arm across the diamond.

Andrew Clark, a strong-bodied 5-foot-10, 184-pound OF from Galatia HS, has committed to McKendree University. Clark opened eyes with his all-around game at a PBR Open I.D. Showcase in September at GCS Ballpark.
