Illinois Central College landed a pair of prospects with commitments from East Peoria C/1B Alex Gutierrez and Metamora OF Joey Malaschak. As a junior at now-closed Peoria Woodruff, Gutierrez hit 9 home runs to go along with a .536 batting average, 20 RBI and 16 stolen bases. Malaschak, who moved in from New Orleans, hit .430 with 21 RBI and 32 runs for Metamora last year.

 

Heartland CC landed another prospect when it received a commitment from Chad Klein, an athletic 6-foot-3 3B from Trenton-Wesclin HS.

 

Canance King, an athletic OF/RHP from Harlan HS in Chicago, has committed to Kentucky State University, joining teammate RHP Cornell Brown, who had earlier committed to the school.
