Mount Carmel's Boehm commits, and other news

Mount Carmel OF/LHP Jeff Boehm, who’s one of the top Class of 2011 prospects in the state, has verbally committed to the University of Kentucky. The 6-foot, 180-pound Boehm is arguably the best left-handed hitter in the class, not to mention he possesses big-time arm strength, as he’s been clocked at 88-91 mph on the mound. Boehm has been a standout at Mount Carmel since his freshman year.

Brandon Shaw, a RHP from North Fulton HS, has committed to Webster University in St. Louis. Behind an 84-87 mph fastball, the 5-foot-9 Shaw helped North Fulton to a third-place finish in Class 1A. Shaw, who had a standout performance at a PBR Unsigned Senior event, went 9-0 with a 2.39 ERA as a junior.

Josh Keim, an INF from Rock Island HS, has committed to Black Hawk College.
