Dylan Craig, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound LHP/OF from Murphysboro HS, has committed to Illinois State University. As the No. 5-ranked prospect in the Class of 2011, Craig emerged as one of the most coveted left-handers in the state after his sensational showing at the Prep Baseball Report’s Top Prospect Showcase in June. At the event, Craig showed an effortless 86-87 mph fastball to go along with a 77-78 mph changeup and sweeping curve. Craig demonstrated tremendous feel and fluidity for three pitches.

Craig is the second top-level left-handed pitcher Illinois has landed in the state, joining 6-foot-6 Joel Learnard from Salt Fork HS. The Redbirds also have commitments from Hinsdale Central middle infielder Matt Anderson and East Peoria infielder Joe Kelch.
