Nazareth's Powers picks his school

Ryan Powers, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound RHP from Nazareth Academy HS, has committed to Miami University of Ohio. The physical right-hander continued to watch his stock climb when he earned Most Valuable Player of the summer state tournament. He showed his mettle in the semifinals by defeating St. Laurence, which ultimately led to the Roadrunners’ summer state championship. Armed with an 85-89 mph fastball, Powers posted a 6-2 record and a 3.50 ERA as a junior while batting .421 with 6 home runs and 46 RBI at the plate. Powers is also a standout power forward on Nazareth's basketball team.
