PBR's Preseason All-State Invite loaded with top juniors

Many of the top juniors in Illinois will be in full display this Saturday for the Prep Baseball Report?s Class of 2012 Preseason All-State Invite.

About 90 prospects from over the state will converge at the Max-McCook Athletic & Exposition Center?s pristine 125,000 square foot open-turf facility in McCook, IL. The event begins at 9 a.m. with position players and catchers. Pitchers will begin at roughly 1:30.

The roster of players looks to be the most impressive list of prospects since our 2009 junior event featuring the Class of 2010. Among the top prospects on that day included John Lieske, Kevin Koziol, Ryan Scarpetta, Ryan Richardson, Chris Waylock, Michael Morman, Cyrus Wimberley, Matt Lynch, Matt Stevens, Kevin Borst and Joe Battaglia ? all eventual Division I signees and/or drafts.

This year?s invitation-only event features an impressive list of prospects, many of whom are highly ranked, and some of whom we?re betting will be highly ranked at the conclusion of the event. The roster also includes some top-level sophomores who couldn?t make January?s Underclass Invitational event.

Full reports and video highlights will be posted after the event.

Participants should check in at the following times:

Position Players and Catchers: 7:45 a.m.-8:05 a.m.
Pitchers Only: Noon-12:20 p.m.
