Porsche Exchange Player of the Week: Sam Travis

The temperatures were freezing in the first week of the season, but that didn?t prevent Providence Catholic third baseman Sam Travis from enjoying a statistically staggering start to his senior campaign.

In three games, the 6-foot, 180-pound Travis went 9-for-10 and began the season going 9 for his first 9. Of his nine hits, he tallied four doubles and three home runs. Travis, who?s signed at Indiana University, drove in 10 runs and also walked for the No. 1-ranked Celtics. His slugging percentage registered at a ridiculous 2.200 while compiling a 3.109 OPS. Not coincidentally, Providence won all three games.

As a junior, Travis batted 486 with 9 doubles, 5 home runs and 32 RBI.

The Porsche Exchange salutes Sam Travis for his hard work and success.
