PBR: Why did you choose George Washington?
Scott: I wanted a school that had solid academics and offers me the ability to play competitive baseball. GW fit this perfectly.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Scott: GW, Lafayette, Holy Cross, Dartmouth, Emory, Case Western, Heidelberg.

PBR: Where did George Washington first see you? How did your relationship develop with Coach Mrowka and the coaching staff?
Scott: Coach Mrowka saw me play at a showcase in Long Island, NY. He was the coach on my team and we really got to know each other well those 2 days. We kept in contact through August and September and talked about every week to 2 weeks. We scheduled an official visit in October where I reconnected with him in person, and was introduced to the rest of the GW coaching staff. I really liked the coaches and the guys on the team.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Scott: Coach Mrowka has told me he sees me as a leadoff hitter and corner outfielder or DH. The hope is that I will gain experience in fall practices and inter-squad, and adjust to playing outfield and hitting at the college level. And I think during that time will determine where I will play on the field come season.

PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that you will help George Washington?
Scott: I believe my speed and left handed bat will help GW after talking to coach. But at the same time I want to work on developing all parts of my game to be more of a complete player and take the things I do well and make them great.

PBR: What sort of sacrifices did you have to make to play a travel intensive schedule during the summer?? What sort of advice would you pass on to players looking to make the same decision?
Scott: I missed a lot of football practice time, 7 on 7s, and 2-a-day practices because so much of my summer schedule was dedicated to baseball. Also playing so much meant I was out of town or not around to spend time with friends. But you have so much fun with the guys in the team it's not an issue. My advice is to work hard and be happy for every opportunity you have to play. Playing an intensive summer baseball schedule is a big time commitment, so make sure you're going to love it and give 100%.

PBR: What was the most memorable experience from this summer?
Scott: Probably traveling with the Bulldogs, Blackhawks, and Team Ohio. Not only was it an awesome opportunity to play great competition in and out of state, but I had a great time getting to know the guys and having a good time with them. But if I had to pick one experience in particular it would be winning the World Series in Tennessee with the Bulldogs.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
Scott: It's hard to say. I've had so many influential people and coaches over the years, especially my high school coach Triffon Callos. But I'd have to say my parents. They have always supported me in everything I've done and they put a lot of time and effort into baseball for me ever since I was a little kid playing. I'm extremely appreciative of all that they have done for me and the support I've received from them.

PBR: What were your stats for this spring season at Summit Country Day
Scott: I was injured last spring for the majority of the season, so i really don't have any spring stats.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?
Scott: I'd have to say the pitching at Buckeye Scout was the best I've seen in Ohio. Those are the best kids in the state and they had some great stuff. Specifically, in school ball I'd have to say Ted Andrews or Eric Nerl. I faced them sophomore year during school ball and they were two guys we prepared for all week in practice. I faced them both this summer and they definitely are both great pitchers.
