Ruckman twins commit, and other news



The Ruckman twins, Jordan and Justin, have committed to Northern Illinois University. The Ruckmans are both coming off big junior campaigns in which they helped lead Herscher HS to the Class 2A supersectionals. Jordan Ruckman, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound LHP/OF, is currently ranked No. 17 in the Class of 2012. As a junior, Jordan posted a 9-1 record with a 1.08 ERA, and tallied 9 homers at the plate. Justin Ruckman, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound RHP/INF, also had an incredible junior season that saw him notch 15 homers, 52 RBI while going 7-2 on the mound. Justin is currently ranked No. 58 in the Class of 2012.

Parkland College landed a pair of aces when it received commitments from Pontiac LHP Caleb Leach and Pleasant Plains RHP Kyle Weller. The 6-foot, 205-pound Leach has been a two-year ace at Pontiac. Weller helped lead Pleasant Plains to the Class 2A supersectionals after going 10-2 with 121 Ks in 66.2 innings.

Logan Spurlin, a 6-foot-3, 225-pound catcher from Loyola Academy HS, has committed to Northern Kentucky University.
