Stevenson's Scheck headed to ACC, and other news

Jeremy Scheck, a 6-foot, 170-pound LHP from Stevenson HS, has verbally committed to Clemson. As one of the top prospects in the loaded Class of 2011, Scheck has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the last year. The left-hander commands four pitches for strikes, including an 86-89 mph fastball, a sharp curveball and an excellent changeup.

Scheck will join former Stevenson star and PBR first-team All-State RHP Scott Firth at Clemson. Lisle senior RHP Jon Surber is also headed to Clemson next fall.

In other recruiting news, Providence junior RHP Brandon Magallones has verbally committed to Northwestern University.

Tyler Brown, a LHP/OF from Joliet Township HS, has committed to Spalding University.

Black Hawk College has received commitments from Morrison RHP Kyle Dermody and Sherrard OF Logan Frye.
