Game of the Day: Dublin Jerome vs. Dublin Coffman

Dublin Coffman defeats Dublin Jerome by a score of 7-4. OF Austin Cousino (2011 Kentucky recruit) goes 2 for 2 at the plate with solo HR, single, BB, and HBP. Coffman RHP Adam Hall (2011 Xavier recruit) dominated early with 84-86 mph fastball and eventually earned the win. Coffman LHP James Walsh (2013) earned the save in relief as he ended the game with a 81-83 mph fastball. Jerome RHP Aaron Huesman (2012) took the loss for Jerome, but showed great potential with 84-86 mph fastball.

Southwest

  • Vandalia Butler (25-3) beats Wayne (5-17) by a score of 6 to 2. RHP Taylore Cherry (2012 UNC recruit) throws a complete game with 14 strikeouts. Dan Link (2012) and Nate Barlow have (2011) knock in 2 RBI?s a piece.
  • Centerville (20-6) beats Tecumseh 12 to 2. LHP Nick Bertram (2013) improves to 7 and 2 on the season. Cole Fitzgerald has a 3B and 4 RBI?s in the win.
  • #7 State ranked Anna (21-2) defeats Miami East (17-5). Eric Terwilliger throws a CG with 16 strikeouts.
  • Hamilton Badin (18-3) defeated Middletown Madison by scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning. Badin?s Nate Snellgrove (2011) aided the comeback with a 3-run homerun in the 4th inning. In the loss. Madison?s Jeff Clemons (2012) pitched a 6 and 1/3rd innings while also hitting a two-run homerun in the first inning.

Northeast

  • Tallmadge (17-5) wins district semifinal game against Marlington (15-10). Tucker Linder (2012) improves to 7-0 on the year while striking out 5 and driving in 3 runs.
  • Canton South defeats Louisville in district semifinals. RHP Logan Bowles (2012 OSU recruit) allows 3 hits and strikes out 7 in 7-2 victory.
  • Cleveland St. Edwards beat Warren Howland 2-1 off two-run homerun by Cody Simon (2011 Wright State recruit).

Central

  • State ranked Olentangy Lewis Center and Woody Wallace (2012/catcher) are upset by Hilliard Bradley in district semifinals.
  • Reynoldsburg (16-10) defeats New Albany (19-7) and RHP Wynston McMartin (2012) by a score of 3-0. Halen Core (2011) throws CG shutout and John Sheline (2011) hits a two-run homerun in the first inning.
  • Columbus St. Francis DeSales (15-9) comes back to beat Canal Winchester in extra innings. TJ Alas (2012) relieves Brennan Schlabig (2012) to help DeSales comeback and earn a chance at a district title.
  • Newark Catholic (19-5) defeats Shekinah Christian 3-0 behind a no hitter from RHP Jimmy Lough (2012).

Southeast

  • Piketon upsets Pomeroy Meigs by a score of 9-0. One of the top prospects in the 2013 class, LHP Zach Farmer, had 17 strikeouts over 6 innings.
  • Chillicothe Unioto (22-4) captures a district title by defeating Sheridan 3-2.
