5.23.14 - Currently ranked No. 18 in Illinois’ 2014 class, No. 80 overall. Committed to Purdue. 6-foot-4, 190 pound athletic frame. Already physical, but could see him adding twenty to thirty pounds and playing a corner infield/outfield spot due to physicality. Played second base today. Ranged well up the middle and to his left on plays. Arm action is a little long in back and throws side arm to down under, but smooth whippy arm with feel from down there. Forms one of the states best double play combinations with shortstop Brad Wood. Hits third for the Vikings from a wide open stance, which gets back to square. Feet were happy in the box, especially early in the game, as back foot was shifting/sliding off home plate 3-4 inches in pre pitch. Swing path shows loft, definite power projection at the next level as he matures. 90 mph exit velocity on line drive sac fly to left field in last at bat.
4/24/13 Purdue recruit, No. 9 ranked player in Illinois 2014 class. 6-foot-4, 190-pound right-handed pitcher. Prototypical pitchers frame. Delivery shows athleticism, shows the ability to repeat. Arm works, athletic arm action, has occasional tendency to work uphill, high ¾ arm slot. Fastball sat at 85-87 mph entire game, touching 88 mph, mostly straight, some finish through the zone. Looks to work down in the zone, pitches off of his fastball. Curveball has downward action, solid depth, 11/5 plane, 70 mph. Kornacker showed the ability to hold his velocity for his entire six innings of work. Maintains his delivery, above average stamina.
Committed to Purdue in October of his junior year. ... Two-way talent made impact on varsity as freshman for Vikings. ... Standout at the PBR Midwest Future Games.
