The 6-foot-3, 205-pound right-handed pitcher originally committed to the University of Florida as a position player. But, with continued development over the course of his high school career, he began to focus on pitching for the next level. Last fall, Varga opened up his recruitment and later issued a verbal pledge to the University of North Carolina. With a fastball that reaches into the mid 90's and good feel for his breaking ball and changeup, Varga is expected to be a top five round draft pick in June of 2014.
