6/4/13 6-foot-1, 183-pound southpaw with solid build. Cross-body type thrower. Lands closed which creates sequencing issues in his delivery. Fastball sat 81-83 mph. Breaking ball sits 65-67 mph with gradual 1/7 break. Looked most comfortable locating the pitch back door on right-handed hitters.
2/10/13 The 6-foot-1, 180-pound lefty displays quick arm speed through a high ¾ arm slot. He showed good feel for a sharp 1/7 breaking ball at 68-71 mph. He still needs to develop his changeup, which is pretty straight at 76-78 mph. He showed similar velocity (81-83 mph) as he did in his appearance at the Underclass Games this past July. Still in the middle of basketball season, and not in complete baseball shape at this time.
8/1/12 6-foot-1, 175-pound prospect. Strong bodied hurler. Repeats delivery well with moderate arm speed through 3/4 slot. Shows balance and lower body finish. Good arm extensions. Fastball has heavy action, ranging 82-84 mph with occasional sink. Good off speed pitches. Uses slurvy type curve ball with two plane tilt and good arm action with change that shows sink action as well. Defensively, he is a first base type. Fields around bag well. Makes contact hitter and shows some potential, but likely projects as a pitcher at the next level. Registered a 7.69 60-yard time.
2/18/12 Good athletic body with that nervous twitch. The 6'1" 175 has physical projection, ran a 5.44 40 yard dash (concrete) and potentially offers a school a two-shot player. Shows good feet and lateral movement defensively, accepts ball well with a playable 68 mph arm velocity. His bat is his ticket as the switch hitter swings well from both sides, Good hand load and directional path to hitting zone. Shows excellent bat speed (89 mph bat velo). He will enhance his power with some lower half tweaking. On the mound, the southpaw uses quick arm speed and long arm action through a high ¾ arm slot. His velocity sat between 76-79 mph (but, we have seen him into the low 80’s in January). He shows a plus 62-63 mph curveball with sharp 2/6 breaking action. He shows command of a fading 66-68 mph changeup that is thrown near fastball arm speed.
