Novak has moved to shortstop this season and looks much more comfortable defensively. Arm is stronger with at least average arm strength and he is quicker as well. Showed a good first step and quickness making a diving stop up the middle and plenty of arm strength to make the throw in time without his feet set. At the plate, Novak was outstanding as always, showing high barrel awareness and a good approach that uses the whole field. Had no problem with Sanchez's velocity, ripping a fastball up the first base line in the first inning for a double and keeping his hands inside on a breaking ball in a later at bat to single to center. Still projects to be a high average hitter in college with doubles power to all fields and a chance to grow into some pull home run power.

7.15.17: Novak has an athletic frame and hits from the left side with a quick bat. Good approach, uses whole field and barrels ball well with gap power all around. Showed power to opposite field staying inside a ball and driving it to deep left for a triple. In a later at-bat, turned on mid-80s for a sharp single to right.

5.19.17: Novak has an athletic frame that has gotten stronger since we last saw it. He is quicker too. Actions around the bag at second are smooth. At the plate, short quick bat with good extension through the ball. Good approach, uses the whole field, mostly working gap-to-gap. Missed a home run to left-center by about two feet, projects to be a high average hitter with plenty of doubles and some home runs.

8.4.16 - showed an uncanny ability to get barrel on baseball. Hits from a balanced set up and takes direct path to ball. Nice rhythm at plate and balance. Exit velocity of 84 mph. Clean actions from the infield. Throws are accurate at 75 mph. Ran a 7.3 60-yard dash.

6.4.16 - Kyle Novak is a left handed hitter from a slightly open stance. Has nice rhythm throughout swing at the plate. Barrel stays thru the zone with a level path. Does a nice job using the entire field
