6-foot, 150-pound athletic frame. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.06. Fluid at the plate, the left-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 82 mph. (65.6 mph bat speed average). (19.0 mph hand speed average). Starts in an athletic stance with a compact load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed is efficient, exhibits an upward swing plane and balanced finish. Barreled up some balls with some loud contact. Solid in the infield, recorded a position velocity of 75 mph; has sure hands, a fluid exchange, and consistent feet. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Used a high ¾ slot with a short arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the base.
VA/DC Limited Series East
Hits from a tall set up with some rhythm. Lanky, projectable frame. Hands are short to the baseball in and out of the zone. Showed some feel for barrel with uphill finish. Think as he gets stronger, some of the balls will drive more as he had a tendency to get under the ball some due to just being a bit weaker right now. Sound defender in the infield. Played up the middle for a good portion of his time, but long term could see him moving to a corner position.
Preseason All-State II
6-foot, 140-pound thin frame. Upright athletic stance from the left side. Small stride in and lands slightly closed. It is a low effort handsy swing that has an uphill path and an upright finish. Swing had gap to gap tendency and posted an exit velocity of 74 mph. Defensively Aldridge had short active feet on approach, average hands to catch, and rhythm tap to hand break. Short arm action working from a three-quarter arm slot at 70 mph across the infield. Ran a 4.40 Home-1st time.
