2018 East Coast Pro Showcase: Day 2 Notebook

The 2018 East Coast Pro Showcase takes place in Hoover, AL at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium from August 1-4. Highlights from Thursday, the second day of games.

Brewers 3, Royals 1
The Brewers led off the game with two runs on four hits from their first five batters and never looked backed. They were led on the mound by RHP Will Childers (Lakeside HS, GA) who struck out four batters in his three scoreless innings of work. Childers is long and lean at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds with an online delivery, working down the hill. Strike thrower who repeated his delivery. Filled up the zone with a 88-92 mph fastball, a 78-81 slider that flashed average and an 80-83 mph changeup. Worked very efficiently, constantly throwing first pitch strikes. Undersized 5-foot-9, 175 pounds RHP Nolan Crisp (Locust Grove HS, GA) showed off his super quick arm speed pumping 88-92 mph fastballs over his two innings pitched. He added a 79-82 mph changeup that flashed average and a long-breaking 78-79 mph slider.
