PRESEASON EVENT:                 Topsail Scrimmage on Saturday, February 17th.  Not sure of all the teams, but we are playing Havelock and Jacksonville.

SPRING BREAK:                         Big Rock Tournament in Morehead City.  April 1-3.  Ashley, New Hanover, Hoggard, Topsail, Palisades, Atkins, South Central, West Carteret, East Carteret, Croatan, DH Conley, Havelock, Eastern Randolph, Corinth Holders, Southern Lee, Person.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR:

Expectations for Team - There is always a team from the beach that gets through to make a run… Is Ashley ready to take that step in 2024? There is depth in the lineup and several young arms that should contribute. Watch the line scores throughout the year… If they are scoring runs at a high clip, lookout because that young staff on the bump will mature quickly with the help.

From the Coach - Expected Team Strength
We are strong behind the plate with 2 very good catchers.  Tanner Berry and Hudson Hauck (both 2025s) have a lot of varsity experience behind the dish and will prove to be very beneficial to our pitching staff.           

THOUGHTS ON THE CONFERENCE:

The Mideastern conference is always a battle as any team can win on any given night.  I believe all 8 teams made the state playoffs last season in their respective classifications, and I expect the same for the upcoming season.  I look forward to the matchups with the other Wilmington schools since you can usually throw records out the window.  It should be another exciting season in the Mideastern.
