Central Texas Summer Open Positional Data Dive


PBR Texas Staff

On June 21, the PBR Texas team hosted the Central Texas Summer Open at Salado High School. The event featured prospects from all HS classes. The day started off by the players running a 60, then throwing from their defensive positions, followed by each player taking a round of batting practice. It was capped off by pitchers throwing bullpens. Today, we take a closer look at the pitching metrics from the day.

Body Rotation: A swing that has the appropriate relative contributions of body and bat rotations is an efficient and Powerful swing that maintains proper sequencing. An efficient baseball swing is one in which the body creates the initial movements, which is then transferred to the arms and out to the bat, thereby maximizing Bat Speed through this proximal-to-distal kinematic sequencing movement pattern.
