Position in the batter's box

*Will Schneider - Morehead State University Outfielder*

This week's tip of the week is one that most coaches or hitters may not spend a lot of time covering. However, it is a tip that should be considered on every single pitch a hitter steps into the batter's box. Positioning yourself in the batter's box is one that can provide a real advantage to the hitter.

Every pitcher has different strengths and weaknesses, which all need to be considered. Those pitchers who are off-speed dominate, should encourage hitters to crowd the plate. Additionally, the pitchers who are throwing with high-velocity, should force hitters to the back of the box. However, the great hitters are ones who can adjust pitch to pitch and will take the pitch count into consideration.

Will Schneider of Morehead State University had an outstanding senior year and was able to make these adjustments between pitches. While this tip is teachable to all ages, those with experience tend to be the ones who apply it the best. Schneider is a senior who steadily improved his game over the years, which included applying this simple, but extremely useful tip - Batter's Box Position. See below for the entire tip with Chris Burke!
