On Wednesday, July 18, Wheaton College in Carol Stream will host the Class of 2020 Showcase. This event is open to high school prospects who are members of the 2020 graduating class.

There’s still room for more prospects, and to register, CLICK HERE. For more information on the event, check-in times, etc., CLICK HERE.

Last year’s event featured a few high-profile 2019 prospects who have since committed to play at the next level, like SS Clark Elliott (Barrington, 2019; Michigan) and C Max Malley (Marist, 2019; Evansville), among others. Both prospects used this PBR event, and others, to propel themselves to select, invite-only events like Future Games and Preseason All-State. The Class of 2020 Showcase is an identifier to find prospects for those aforementioned invite-only events – including the inaugural 2020 All-State Games coming in August.

Among this year’s 60-plus registered players set to attend Wednesday’s event is C Logan Delgado (Antioch). Delgado is ranked No. 29 in his state’s class and the No. 3 backstop for his loud contact at the plate and his advanced defensive abilities behind it.

Joining Delgado at the showcase are a couple of athletic RHPs: Rohan B. Shah (Lyons Township) and Joel Sarver (Champaign Central). The two are currently ranked back-to-back within Illinois’ 2020 class, at No. 52 and 53 overall. Shah is a 6-foot-2, 165-pound righty who’s topped 85 mph with his fastball – and can handle the bat, too. Sarver has shown promising flashes of a three-pitch mix with his 82-84 mph fastball, aggressive curveball thrown for strikes, and a fading changeup.

And another name to look out for is OF Eddie Harvey (New Trier), a 6-foot athlete who’s shown some real bat strength with a gap-to-gap approach, ranked No. 74 in the class. We last saw Harvey at the Underclass Invitational in February, so it’ll be interesting to see how Harvey performs after an additional season of high school ball under his belt.
