The 2019 high school season is well underway. Yesterday, 2019 LHP Dalton Rogers (Northwest Rankin HS) was named the Player of the Week for March 25th  – March 31st. This week’s decision was a tough one, as there were several worthy nominees for the honor. We take a look at the other nominations sent in by coaches around the state in this week’s Diamond Notes.

Jarrad Robinson (Alcorn Central) was eight-for-nine in three games on the week including two doubles, two triples, one homerun, eight RBI and stole three bases. The Itawamba CC signee raised his average to a team-leading .487.

Walker Ladner (Florence) hit .571 on the week vs Raymond with two triples and a home run totalling six RBI.  On the mound he tossed a complete game giving up two hits and striking out 16.  On the season, he is 4-1 on the mound with only two earned runs in 25.2 innings pitched.  He has struck out 46 hitters and has a .545 ERA.  At the plate, he is hitting .437 with three doubles, five triples, and five home runs.  He has 34 RBI.

Connor Davis (Booneville) finished the week 4-for-8 with an OBP of .583. Davis scored five runs and drove in four more and stole two bags.

Nik English three doubles one triple one homerun last week.
Ben Luckett (Yazoo County) hit .500 with two singles, one double, one triple and one homerun while driving in seven runs. Luckett is now hit .615 on the season.
Gray Bane (Lewisburg) in three games on the week, Bane collected five hits, including four doubles and one home run. He drove in eight runs and scored three more as LHS improved to 3-1 in 1-5A and 10-7 overall.
Cade Davis (Ripley) logged seven innings on the mound allowing two earned runs while striking out eight. Was also three-for-three at the plate with one double and a homerun while driving in five RBI.
Hayden Fortune (Ripley) was 5-for-10 with three doubles, four RBI, one walk and two HBP.
Cade Mohan (Biloxi) 6-for-11 with six singles and seven runs scored.
Colten Keith (Biloxi) five hits in eleven at-bats including two singles, one double, one triple and one homerun while driving in five runs and scoring five more. 
Conner Platt (Biloxi) 5-for-11, two singles, three doubles, with three RBI.
