Fall Player Spotlights: Kel Busby

This Fall PBR Arkansas is highlighting a couple of the top uncommitted prospects from the 2023 class to a handful of talented 2025's. Today we take a look at the power armed 2024 right-hander Kel Busby. The Pulaski Academy product splits his time both on the mound as well as behind center as one of the top ranked prospects in the State on both fields. On the mound he has shown the ability to rack up the strikeouts in a hurry thanks to his upper 80's to low 90's fastball and excellent upper 70's curveball with big depth. He also shows feel for a mid 70's changeup that gives him a true starter's profile. Standing at a projectable 6-foot-3 and 195-pounds, Busby has a chance to a be a true game changer on the mound at the next level and should be on everyone's radar.

Feel type pitcher and shows some effort. Has an athletic balance point and uphill even shoulders. Lands square with balanced an athletic finish. Threw his fastball 86-89 mph; has a heavy straight fastball that showed command in the zone and deceiving tilt action. (Max spin 1990; Avg 1707). Throws a 12/6 curveball (74-77) that has in the zone command and plus swing and miss action. (Max spin 2075; Avg 2014).
