Class of 2018

Bret Asadorian 2B / SS / Olmsted Falls, OH / 2018

Justin Bierbaum RHP / 3B / LaSalle, OH / 2018

A right-handed pitching prospect in the 2018 class. Mechanically efficient and arm works. Delivery requires regular effort and he goes through a near over the top slot. A strike thrower that has command of all his offerings. Fastball sat 82-84 mph on this day (we saw him at 84-87 mph last week). Spins a very sharp, 12/6 breaking ball with depth. Consistently produced swing and misses with the pitch.

Justin Donovan C / 1B / Elder , OH / 2018

Behind the plate he starts in a mid crouch. Exchange skills are average at this stage. Throws were consistently on the bag. Moves off the bag well at first base with feel for the position. Flashed solid glove skills and transition smoothly into his throws. Does a nice job of creating angles on his double play balls. At the plate he starts in a wider setup. Initiates loading sequence through a toe turn load. Barrel stays rhythmic prior to launch. Path is level with impressive strength through contact. Swings the bat with intent to do damage. Gap to gap guy with power potential to his pull-side.

Colin Kennedy 3B / RHP / Chagrin Falls, OH / 2018

5-foot-10, 185-pound prospect. The right-hander displays looseness in his arm. The delivery has good rhythm. He works through a ¾ slot with a long arm action. The fastball sat 79-82 mph with good sinking action. His slider had some sharpness to it sitting 67-73 with 10/4 action. The changeup is thrown with fastball arm speed. The pitch has cutting action at 75-76 mph. Starts in a tall, open setup at the plate. Uses a leg kick to initiate his loading sequence. Strong kid with some bat speed. Bat gets through the zone on a level path. Swings with the intent to do damage. Showed gap to gap pop with power potential to his pull side. Very quick, athletic footwork for frame in the infield. Does a nice job of fielding the ball out in front of his body. Looked unsure of his glove at times. Threw across the infield with 81 mph arm strength.

Drew Klaserner C / 3B / Elder, OH / 2018

Luke Morris RHP / 1B / Lakota West , OH / 2018

On the mound the right-hander offers a three-pitch mix while working through a high-¾ slot. Delivery requires some effort with average arm speed. Fastball showed slight run at times sitting 75-78 mph. Breaking ball has an 11/5 shape to it with signs of sharpness at 66-67 mph. Morris showed solid pitchability, Uses his fastball to get ahead and his breaking ball is his out pitch. Showed a changeup a few times at 69-70 mph.

Brandon Myers SS / 2B / Elder , OH / 2018

A right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic setup. Initiates swing sequence through a leg kick load. Hands stay loose and fluid throughout load. Path is slightly downhill with well above average bat speed. Drove the ball with authority in batting practice, showing gap to gap pop. In the infield he looked comfortable and athletic. Plays fast and with confidence. Glove skills are above average and he transitions smoothly from fielding into his throws. Throws have good pace and were consistently on target. Moves well outside his funnell.

Mitchell Ruple RHP / 2B / Willoughby South, OH / 2018

A right-handed pitching prospect in the 2018 class. Works with a fluid, uptempo delivery. Creates solid energy with his lower half through an efficient hip load. Lands on line at foot strike, falling slightly to the first base side to finish. Arm moves through a high-¾ slot with above average arm speed. Arm action is clean. Look for velo to continue to progress. Currently sits 78-82 mph with his fastball that was mostly straight through the zone. Offers a changeup and breaking ball for his secondary offerings. Showed feel for both. Breaking ball has good spin to it, moving on an 11/5 plane at 69-71 mph.. The pitch has enough depth and movement to miss barrels with a two-plane look to it at times. The changeup has a fastball look to it out of the hand and he does a nice job of maintaining arm speed. The pitch has some fade to it at 73-77 mph. Has the stuff to pitch at the next level just needs to be in the zone more consistently.

Brian Zix SS / RHP / Moeller, OH / 2018

5-foot-7, 145-pound thinner, athletic body frame. Right-handed hitter starts from a tall stance, using a leg kick for added power to his swing. Has minimal load with his hands, swinging with a slightly upward bat path through the zone. Showed the ability to use both sides of the field during his round of batting practice. Reached a top exit velocity of 79 mph and ran a 7.37 60-yard dash. In the infield, he shows good athleticism, fields the ball out front with smooth actions. Throws from a high ¾ slot with 72 mph arm strength across the diamond. On the mound he has good lip load incorporating lower half with his throws, using regular effort to his delivery. He lands in a straight line at foot strike, finishing with his momentum carrying toward home. Throws with average arm speed through a ¾ slot. Fastball was between 75-77 mph and maintained that velocity from the stretch. His curveball has sharpness to it with 11/5 tilt between 70-71 mph. Threw the changeup using fastball arm speed between 71-72 mph.

Class of 2019

Matt Ferritto 3B / RHP / St. Ignatius , OH / 2019

A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Hands stay at launch during his knee pinch load and short stride. Strong kid with a mostly level path. Ball gets out off his bat well showing gap to gap pop. Has middle of the lineup potential. At third base he does a nice job creating angles in his pre fielding footwork. Fields the ball nicely out in front of his body. Glove skills are there and he made all the plays in his defensive evaluation. On the mound the right-hander has a slower paced tempo to his repeatable delivery. Looks the part on the mound, mechanically efficient with a clean arm. Arm action is shorter with above average arm speed. Throws an easy 76-80 mph fastball that was mostly straight through the zone. Pitch gets on hitters quicker than velo would suggest. Spins an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with sharpness to it at 64-66 mph. Didn’t show the pitch much but was impressive when he did.

Grayson Hamilton OF / RHP / Lakota East , OH / 2019

A two-way prospect that projects more on the mound at this stage. Delivery is clean and easy. Arm action is relatively clean while working through a high-¾ slot. A strike thrower that worked both sides of the plate with his 79-83 mph fastball (we have seen him sit 84-86 mph on other occasions). His go to secondary offering was his 11/5 shaped breaking ball. Showed confidence in the pitch that came in the zone at 68-71 mph. A right-handed hitter that starts in a wider setup. Mechanics are simple, taking his hands to launch during his short stride. Swing is compact and barrel works on a slightly downhill plane. Strong kid with some twitch to him. A line drive guy that flashed the ability to drive the gap. From the outfield his arm strength stands out as top tool. Plays with athleticism and feel for the position. Plays through the baseball well.

Mason Holloway SS / 2B / Mason , OH / 2019

A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Loading sequence is fluid, getting things started with a leg kick. Uses a back load to create balance. Strength stands out as his bat works on a slightly downhill path. Showed feel for the barrel, with a line drive approach. Possesses the ability to find the gap. In the infield he has fluid actions and can create angles. Glove is an above average tool. Displayed enough arm for the left side of the infield.

Nick Niehoff LHP / OF / William Mason, OH / 2019

A 6-foot-2, southpaw with room to fill out. On the mound he has a slower pace tempo to a delivery that requires little effort. Arm action is loose  while working through a high-¾ slot with obvious quickness to his arm. A strike thrower that can really pitch. Fastball sat 74-77 mph but shows all the signs of much more velocity to come. Fastball has run and sink to it. His go to secondary offering is his 62-64 mph breaking ball. The pitch has sharpness to it while working on a 1/7 plane. Also flashed a changeup with fade to it 68-69 mph.

Jake Todd 1B / OF / Bellbrook , OH / 2019

A right-hander hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Loading sequence is simple, using a back load during short stride. Launches from a balanced position. Bat has obvious quickness to it, getting through contact with authority. Strength stands out. Showed easy gap pop with power to come. Middle of the lineup bat. A first baseman with feel for the spot. Gets off the bag with good direction. Glove skills are developing. Looked confident and comfortable during defensive workout.

Class of 2020

Nolan Frisk SS / RHP / Beavercreek, OH / 2020

A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Loading sequence is simple, using a back load during his short stride. Path is level to slightly uphill. Produces solid barrel whip through the zone. Bat speed and strength are both well above average tools for his class. A gap to gap guy with more in there as he fills out projectable frame. Definite young hitter to keep an eye on as he develops physically. On the mound the right-hander has an uptempo delivery that requires some effort. Uses a mid leg lift prior to his drop and drive load. Lands in line to home plate at foot strike. Arm action is shorter with developing arm speed. Arm moves through a high-¾ slot with his fastball staying mostly true through the zone. His primary secondary offering was his 11/5 shaped breaking ball. The pitch showed big, gradual break. Impressed with his pitchability, throwing both offerings in the zone consistently.

Austin Schroeder C / 1B / Beavercreek, OH / 2020

A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Gets things started with a toe turn load during his stride. Hands are loose and fluid during his bat tip load. A strong kid with impressive whip through the zone. A middle of the lineup bat with present gap to gap pop. Consistently produced back spin to his pull side. Still has more juice left in there. In the infield, he fields the ball slightly back on his heels. Feet stay square to the ball playing through it. Funnels the ball up to his ear and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. From the crouch, his hips rotate well with developing footwork. Throws the ball from a higher 3/4 slot with developing arm speed.
