The Future Prospect Showcase - Madison took place earlier this month and featured a number of up and coming 7th and 8th grade prospects, who not only were evaluated by our scouting staff but also gained valuable experience in the recruiting process. Here's a look at all of the position player prospects in attendance in alphabetical order.

5-foot-11, 175-pound, athletic, right-handed pitcher and infielder. On the mound, projectable body type, high ¾ arm slot, short arm action. Tall and fall delivery, smooth rhythm, lands square, finishes with slight cross over. Fastball, mostly straight, 75-77 mph. Curveball, 11/5 shape, 64-67 mph. Defensively, short arm action, over-the-top slot, accurate, plays through the ball athletically, 79 mph across the infield. Offensively, balanced setup, back load, short stride, maintains balance, uphill barrel path, fluid rhythm, 85 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.28 60.

Jenkin Alexander, 2B/RHP, Sun Prairie, 2022
5-foot-3, 115-pound, left-handed hitting 2B/RHP. Offensively, tall, slightly open setup, short stride. Confident approach, fluid rhythm, line drive type. Path works short and stays level with some looseness. 78 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively, has soft hands, quick footwork, clean exchange, athletic fielding position. Arm works short from an over the top slot. Throws had accuracy and were clocked at 59 mph across the diamond. 8.1 runner in the laser-timed 60. On the mound, tall and fall delivery, in line direction, repeats well. Short arm action from a high ¾ angle. Fastball played at 59-61 mph, slight sink. Curveball is 12/6 48-51 mph. Changeup sinks and showed control, 55-56 mph.

Bryce Barbian, 3B/RHP, Cudahy, 2021
5-foot-10, 166-pound, two-way prospect with an athletic build. On the mound, right-handed pitcher, works with regular effort, in line direction, toe lands slightly closed, square landing. Arm action is short from a high ¾ angle. Fastball, thrown for strikes, sat 72-73 mph. Curveball, has 11/5 shape, 59-62 mph. Changeup, flashed sink, tendency to slow arm, 60-62 mph. Offensively, right-handed hitter, open setup, leg kick, balance through contact. Occasional strong contact, uphill path, 89 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively, has a short arm action from a low ¾ slot. Threw 69 mph across the diamond. 7.58 runner in the laser-timed 60.

Charlie Barton, 2B/RHP, Franklin, 2021
5-foot-4, 115-pound, right-handed hitting 2B/RHP. Offensively, balanced setup, short stride, maintains balance through contact. Short, uphill path through the zone. 69 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively, plays through the baseball. Arm action is short from a high ¾ slot, 67 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.78 laser-timed 60. Path works short and uphill with natural lift. 78 mph exit velocity from a tee. Hits from a tall setup, leg lift, good balance throughout. Defensively, has a short arm action from a high ¾ slot.
