High School Crosscheck: March 1-7

Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

At the 2019 Future Games, RHP Jackson Jobe (Heritage Hall HS, OK) was ripping off nasty sliders and putting up eye-opening Trackman numbers. Now, he has ascended to being one of the top arms in the country and is off to a blistering start to the 2021 season. In his regular season opener last week, he went four innings on 52 pitches, allowing just three hits while striking out eight. He sat 94-95 mph, reaching back for a few 96s with slight arm-side run and much-improved control. His slider is the separator, an elite pitch with spin rates in the 2950-3050 range and sitting 80-85. He commands the pitch well, at one point tossing them back-to-back in a 3-1 count to get a strikeout. He also mixed in an advanced changeup to get swings and misses out of left-handed hitters at 84-85.
