IMG Shuts Outs TNXL 5-0

IMG Academy took down TNXL Academy 5-0 in a game where offense was scarce and pitching dominated. The Ascenders actually no-hit the ducks as 2018 RHP Levi Kelly and 2016 RHP Anthony Holubecki combined for 11 strikeouts and only two walks.

Kelly, a Louisiana State commit, threw four innings and sat 87-91 mph with an advanced curveball, slider, and changeup. Maybe the most impressive aspect of his outing was that his velocity increased as the game went on—he touched 92-93 mph in the fourth inning. As for Holubecki, He sat 89-92 mph and kept the Ducks off balance with a solid curveball and above average changeup.

TNXL also had commendable performances from their pitchers as they only gave up two hits. A few walks, hit-by-pitches, and errors are what led to their detriment and the five runs they allowed. In fact, the only run that was driven in by a base hit was when 2016 OF Gabe Lozado (Miami commit) lined an RBI single to left field.
