Naperville Central 11, Glenbard North 3
Naperville Central (17-8; 12-2) routed the Panthers in Carol Stream. The Redhawks scored four times in the first and added three more runs in the second to put this one to bed early. Red-hot junior C Bobby McMillin had three more hits, including his third round-tripper of the season and a pair of RBI. Brendan Daily also homered and had three hits and plated three Redhawk runs. Dan Dolehide also went deep for NC. On the mound, Brett Kirk (5-1) allowed two runs and three hits in his quality five innings of work to get the win.

Dundee-Crown (11-12; 7-5 Blue) knocked off the Fox leaders in Johnsburg. Sam Ray led the Charger attack with a 3-for-4 game with a double and three RBI.

Grayslake Central (13-9; 8-6) moved back into first-place it the Fox with the win in Hampshire. Senior Mike Stone led the Ram attack with a single double and two RBI. Senior Matt Loeffl chipped in with a single triple and an RBI.

McHenry 8, Jacobs 7 (8 innings)
McHenry (17-7; 10-4) scored five times in the top of the seventh to tie the game and then won it in eight thrilling innings in Algonquin. Senior Robert Nagel’s clutch two-out RBI single tied the game at 7-7. In the top of the eighth, senior Cody Freund plated Ryan Grannemann, who had singled with the eventual game-winner. RHP Mikey Alardo finished off the Golden  Eagles in the seventh to pick up the win on the mound. Junior Jack Glosson had three singles and drove home two for the Warriors.   

Cary-Grove 15, Huntley 5
Cary-Grove (16-8; 11-3) crushed the Red Raiders for its ninth-consecutive victory and moved into first place in the Valley with the win at home in Cary. Senior Dean Christakes singled and went deep for the blazing-hot Trojans. Junior Connor Leach had two singles and plated three Trojan runs while senior Andrew Splitt was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

Herscher (23-6; 12-1 South) won for the sixth-consecutive time, whipping the Coalers at home in Herscher. The Tigers scored four times in the bottom of the sixth to bust this contest open. Devin Bean had two singles and two RBI to lead the Tiger attack while Austin Berns chipped in with a single and an RBI. Tiger ace RHP Jeff Klaman improved to 7-0 with the seven-hitter.

Reed-Custer 4, Westmont 1
Reed Custer (18-9; 9-4 South) rolled past Westmont behind Tiger ace Brent Headrick (8-1). Headrick went the distance allowing a run and seven hits with seven strikeouts to pick up the win. Eddie Wilkins and Travis Schoonover went deep for the Comets. Wilkins added a single and plated three Comet runs.

Schaumburg (14-4; 9-3 West) slipped past the upstart Bison in Buffalo Grove.

Prospect 11, Fremd 9
Prospect (15-8-1; 8-4) pulled back into a tie with Elk Grove for the MSL East lead with the five-inning win in Mount Prospect. RHP Jim Kennedy fired a four-hitter at the Vikings with 10 punchouts. Grant Miller had a single, double and plated four Knight runs while Tommy Flahaven singled, homered and plated a pair for the MSL East co-leaders.

Hoffman Estates 11, Rolling Meadows 9
Hoffman Estates (8-13-1;4-8 West) outslugged the Mustangs at the Rolling Meadows Park District. The Hawks were led by Devin Willis and Keegan Mugerditchian. Willis was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle and drove home four Hawk runs..Mugerditchian had two singles a triple and three RBI for HE  

Hersey 13, Conant 4
Hersey (11-12-1; 7-5 East) pulled within a game of MSL East co-leaders Elk Grove and Prospect with the win in Arlington Heights. Eric Labahn had three singles and four RBI to lead the Huskie attack. CJ Reichel singled, doubled and drove home a run.

Rockford Boylan (19-6; 10-2) slipped past the Bulldogs for its seventh-straight win behind Will Troia and Dalton Robison. Troia doubled, homered and plated a pair of Titan runs while Robison singled doubled and also had two RBI for Boylan. The Titans hold a one-game lead over second-place Rockton Hononegah (16-8; 9-3).

NORTHERN ILLINOIS BIG 12 WEST NEWS

Geneseo (20-5-1; 11-1) swept its three-game series with Streator on Friday, outscoring the Bulldogs 39-0 in the three games. La Salle-Peru (19-8; 11-1)  swept away arch-rival Ottawa to set up a best-of three, NIB-12 West conference championship series, beginning Monday in Geneseo. The two  clubs will meet at Veterans Park in Peru on Tuesday and then play the final NIB-12 West game in Maple Leaf country in Geneseo on Wednesday. Please send game reports to [email protected]

No. 6 Libertyville 5, No. 20 Grant 1
Libertyville (20-4) defeated the Bulldogs behind Hunter Von Wagner and Matt Reed. Von Wagner singled and drove home two Wildcat runs while Reed had two singles and drove home one. Wildcat starting LHP  Charlie Murphy allowed one run and four hits in his solid six-inning start to pick up the win.  

No. 2 Lincoln-Way North 8, Lincoln-Way East 5
Lincoln-Way North (18-2) had scored twice in the bottom of the seventh, to close to 5-4 against rival East in Frankfort. With the bases full of Phoenix baserunners, senior Conor Grove stepped up to the plate. Grove, who also homered on Thursday, sent the next pitch soaring over the right field fence, for the dramatic walk-off grand slam bomb that sent the 2nd-ranked Phoenix fandom into mass-hysteria jumping up-and-down for joy down Colorado Avenue.  

TIGER CLASSIC @ Edwardsville
No.18 Edwardsville 3, Lockport 0
Edwardsville (22-5) blanked the Porters at Tom Pile Field in Edwardsville. Senior Ian Millman and junior Chris Robinson combined for a four-hit-shutout at the Porters. Millman (1-0) allowed the four hits in his 5.1 scoreless innings and Robinson fired 1.2 innings of hitless relief to complete the shutout.
