Champaign Centennial (17-7; 7-2) blasted the Tigers behind Austin Johnson, who fired six scoreless innings, allowing just four hits, to pick up the win. Johnson was also 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored.

Normal West 10, Decatur Eisenhower 0
Normal West (14-12; 5-2) destroyed Ike in five innings in Decatur.

Highland Park (15-7; 8-2) blanked the Warriors behind a two-hit shutout from RHP Liam Carter. Carter struck out five and walked one to improve to 5-1 on the mound.

Glenbrook North 16, Maine East 2
Glenbrook North (12-11; 8-4) crushed the Blue Demons in Park Ridge. Kyle Miller led the Spartans with a 3-for-4 game with two doubles and two RBI.

Glenbrook South (20-3;10-0) smashed the Bulldogs behind a four-hitter from RHP Mike Lenckos (6-0). Lenckos struck out six and walked none. The Bulldog run was unearned.

Evanston 2, Maine South 1 (5 innings)
Evanston (13-9-1; 5-5) stunned the Hawks in front of the home folks in Evanston. Dylan Mulvihill fired a four hitter at MS with six strikeouts, STAT NOTE: Maine South’s senior RHP Bobby Pennington is 7-0 with a 0.53 ERA, allowing 22 hits in 40 innings of work. Pennington has struck out 46 and walked 11.

Naperville Central (16-8; 10-2) slipped past the Panthers. Senior RHP Pat Maloney (4-1) fired a three-hitter at the Panthers with eight strikeouts.

Lake Park 7, Wheaton Warrenville South 6 (8 innings)
Lake Park (10-11; 6-6) scored three runs in the top of the seventh to send the game to extra innings and then won it in the top of the eighth. Anthony Gallina was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle and drove home four Lancer runs.

Wheaton North 8, West Aurora 6 (8 innings)  
Wheaton North (13-9; 8-4) outslugged the Black Hawks in  eight innings in Aurora. Gregg Sells had two doubles and two RBI to lead the Falcon attack.

Kaneland (14-8; 9-3) slipped past Sycamore in a thriller at Sycamore Community Park. Joey Panico’s sac-fly drove home the eventual game-winning run in the top of the seventh.

Yorkville 4, DeKalb 3
Yorkville (18-8; 8-4) nipped the Barbs behind a six-hitter from RHP Cameron Van Boekel. Van Boekel allowed one earned run and struck out four and walked two.

Plainfield East (11-13; 8-7) outlasted the Tigers in eight innings. Jovaney Urbieta singled, homered and had two RBI to lead the Bengals.

Minooka, Oswego
Minooka (20-4; 14-1) moved into a first-place tie with Plainfield North with the win at Jackie’s Field of Dreams in Oswego. Lewis University-bound SS Neal Tyrell was 3-for-3 with three runs scored for the Indians.

Stagg (11-14; 5-4) whipped the Brook behind Brett Stratinsky, who had a perfect 3-for-3 day with a homer.

St. Francis (17-8; 9-3) outslugged the Broncos in Wheaton. William Purdon went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI to lead the Spartans.

Defending SCC-Gold co-champion Chicago Christian (18-11-1; 9-6) clinched a tie for another Gold title with the five-inning win in Aurora.

St. Charles East (17-8; 13-6) swept away its rival North Stars in six innings at North. The Fighting Saints were led by senior Brannon Barry and junior Jake Asquini. Brannon was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Asquini was 2-for-3 with two RBI.
