Madison, MS - On Tuesday the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots played host to Jackson Prep. Jackson Prep scored early with the long ball and was able to hold on to defeat Madison-Ridgeland Academy 3-2.

Jackson Prep got things going in the first with a solo home run by Chance Lovertich and was followed in the second by a solo shot by Jake Maloney giving them an early two run lead. Lovertich would also get the start on the mound for Jackson Prep and was able to have an effective outing pitching for six innings, allowing zero runs on three hits while striking out three.

The Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots would give the ball to RHP Landon Cochran who displayed a solid two pitch mix throwing for seven innings, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out six and walking only one.

Jackson Prep would add another run in the sixth with the second solo homer of the game for Chance Lovertich extending the lead to 3-0.

The Patriots offense would come alive late as they pushed two runs across in the seventh, but they would fall short as Mississippi recruit, Kelly Crumpton would come in for Prep and get the save pitching 84-88 for one inning of work, claiming a 3-2 victory.
