GAMES OF THE WEEK

#10 Nansemond River at Ocean Lakes, Monday, March 28
The Warriors go on the road to take on a strong Ocean Lakes squad that will likely have junior lefty Blake Dickerson (Virginia Tech) slated to start the game against NR's stacked lineup that includes Grayson Fitzwater (VMI), Clay Grady (Virginia Tech), Jordan Crossland (Maryland), and Ayden Stuffel (CNU). 

#3 Freedom (South Riding) at #21 Patriot, Tuesday, March 29
Freedom dropped their District opener to Battlefield last week in a pitcher's duel and will go on the road to take on Patriot's high-powered offense. Look for Ryan Morrison (CNU) to probably make the start with Ryan Marohn (NC State) and Luke Proehl (Virginia Tech) their to backstop him. Patriot will likely start junior Jakob Foster (Mount St. Mary's) with Jordan Capuano and Parker Hogge (Slippery Rock) in the mix as well. Offensively, seniors AJ Shepherd (Indiana), Kyle Vandenburg, and Mason Balsis (Longwood) anchor a Pioneer offense that will challenge Freedom's staff.

#14 Miller School at #13 Highland (March 29) and #14 Miller School at #8 Greenbrier Christian (April 1)
The Mavericks are coming off of a weekend sweep of public school powerhouses Western Branch and James Madison and continue to work through a really tough schedule this week as they will go on the road to take on a hot Highland team and a loaded Greenbrier team. 

Deep Run Baseball Classic, Saturday, April 2
2022 marks the return of the Deep Run Baseball Classic, which will be held for the first time since 2019. Games will be held at Deep Run High School in the Richmond suburbs and will feature a loaded group of teams. The field this year includes #7 St. Christopher's, Mechanicsville, #17 Benedictine, #9 Cosby, Midlothian, Matoaca, Deep Run, and Caroline. All teams will play three games, with the tournament starting on Saturday and continuing Monday and Tuesday.
