March is finally here and baseball tryouts have officially hit the ground running for Public Schools across the Old Line State. This year, we have decided to keep the same format as last year as we will keep two separate rankings throughout the Spring season. All Maryland Private schools will be considered in this year's weekly PBR Maryland Private Schools Top 10 rankings while only Public schools will be considered in our traditional PBR Maryland Public Schools Power 25. An update to these rankings will be released every Monday throughout the season.

Season Snapshot

Coach Eric Milton and the Falcons enter the 2022 season with plenty of depth top to bottom throughout their roster, with impact players on both sides of the ball. The loss of shortstop and San Diego Padres First Round pick Jackson Merrill will be felt early on, as Merrill was not only one of the best players in the state, but his leadership and charisma led the Falcons to the state championship game just a year ago.

The offense for the Falcons in 2022 will have a slightly different feel to it without the thump that Merrill provided, however, look for the likes of Senior Tucker McDonough (New York), Junior two-ways Seamus Patenaude and Ethan Rodriguez, and Sophomore two-way standout Angel Santiago-Cruz to take leadership over the offense and bring well needed stability and depth on both sides of the ball.

On the bump, look for Senior lefty Colton Adams (Bryant), Junior Seamus Patenaude and Sophomore Angel Santiago-Cruz to take leadership over the pitching staff this season and bring consistency on the mound. There is no shortage of depth when it comes to arms, as there are hungry underclassmen ready to step up and be apart of the winning culture that Coach Milton has built at Severna Park.
