10/22/17 Extremely long and rail-thin, Abendroth worked his fastball at 90-93 mph, sitting mostly at 90-91, with angle and occasional arm-side life. While he set hitters up with his lively fastball, he put them away with a hard 12/6 curveball that ranged between 78-80 mph. Abendroth recorded four of his six outs via strikeout, all of which came off his breaking ball.
A 6-foot-5, 170-pound frame with long limbs. Right-handed pitcher with a short, quick arm action and regular effort in delivery. Fastball works with good angle and sinking action at 87-89 mph, touching 90 mph. Breaking ball has shown 11-5 shape with occasional tight spin also flashing a changeup at 74 mph with slight fading action.
4/27/17 Louisiana State recruit,6-foot 4, 170-pound right-handed pitcher with long, lanky projectable frame. Long, loose arm action from high-3/4 release with quick arm speed and regular effort. Smooth rhythm, in-line direction while working downhill and lands slightly open. Fastball sat 84-87 mph, touching 88 with sinking action and solid life. Breaking ball showed 11/5 shape at 68-72 mph with solid depth. Also showed changeup with near fastball arm speed and fading action at 75-76 mph.
