Prep Baseball Report of North Carolina is excited to announce its North Carolina All PBR Team. Award after the 2023 season generated some incredible individual moments and performances throughout the state. As the spring high school season comes to a close, PBR of NC is excited to announce the players who made the PBR All State 1st Team. Its a collection of standout players from across the state. All had big years and played a major part in their teams success. 

NORTH CAROLINA ALL PBR: 1ST TEAM

Catcher

Blaize Johnson C / Northwest Guilford, NC / 2024 Had a big year helping to lead the Vikings to the West 4A Finals. The left hand hitting Cather hit 10 HRs with 7 2Bs and driving in 36 Runs.

 

Infielders

 

Coy James SS / Davie, NC / 2025 The athletic shortstop sparked the Davie offense helping to lead them to one of their best seasons in recent years. He hit .457 with with 10 2Bs, 5 3Bs and 3 HRs.

Kelvyn Paulino Jr 3B / Ledford, NC / 2025 The sophomore infielder provided a major presence in the Ledford lineup. He had several big hits throughout the year leading the Panthers to a 20 win season.

Colby Wallace SS / Pinecrest, NC / 2023 The Pinecrest infielder made his presence know once again in 2023. He hit .400 with 12 2B, 5 HRs, and 3 3Bs while driving in 38 Runs.

 

Caden Davidson 3B / TC Roberson , NC / 2025 Hit in the middle of the order for the 4A State Champs. Davidson hit .404 with a slugging % of .657. He added 5 HRs, 10 2Bs with 34 RBIs.

Bryant Kimbrell 3B / Pinecrest , NC / 2024 Kimbrell provided thump to the Pinecrest order. He hit 9 HRs with 9 2Bs, and drove in 40 Runs while hitting .392.

 

Outfielders

 

Everett Johnson OF / Wayne Country Day, NC / 2025 It seems like Johnson always hits no matter who is on the mound. This season he hit .443 with 9 2Bs, 4 3Bs and 1 HR. He also added 29 Stolen Bases.

 

Tristan Salinas SS / Watauga, NC / 2023 Salinas played a key role in the Pioneers winning season. He hit 7 HRs with 6 2Bs and 1 3B while driving in 31 Runs. Also, got some key outs on the mound.

 

Jacob Smith 3B / Lincoln Charter, NC / 2024 Smith provided a ton of thump in the Lincoln Charter lineup. He his 12 HRs with 12 2Bs and 1 3B. He drove in 34 Runs while hitting .494 on the year.

 

Dual Threats

 

Andrew Wallen RHP / J.H Rose , NC / 2024 The North Carolina recruit was a big factor in Rose heading back to the 3A Finals. He hit .462 with 10 HRs and 9 2Bs and drove in 45 Runs. He also added 107 strikeouts on the mound.

Chace Chaplin 3B / Middle Creek, NC / 2023 Helped lead Middle Creek to another winning season. He won Conference Player of the Year hitting .471 with 25 SBs. Went 10-1 on the mound with a 1.45 ERA.

Folger Boaz LHP / East Surry , NC / 2023 The North Carolina recruit hit .527 with 10 HRs, 9 2Bs, 2 3Bs and 45 RBIs. Also went 9-1 on the bump with 112 Strikeouts.

Braden Burress SS / Greene Central, NC / 2024 The East Carolina commit hit .549 with 9 2Bs, 4 3Bs and 1 HR. He dominated on the mound going 11-0 with 103 punch outs and only 10 walks.

 

 

 

Pitchers

 

Bromley Thornton RHP / New Hanover, NC / 2023 Led the New Hanover staff on the mound. Was key in several big games on the mound leading them to a Conference Title

Sean Jenkins RHP / Fred T Foard, NC / 2025 Struck out 123 hitters in 62.1 innings pitched. He went 5-0 on the year with a 1.35 ERA.

 

 

Tucker Holland LHP / The Burlington School, NC / 2023 Pitched The Burlington School to a 2A NCISAA State Championship. Struck out 96 in 50 IP with a 1.80 ERA.

 

 

 

Grant Nicholson RHP / Charlotte Christian, NC / 2025 The Wake Forest recruit won 10 games on the mound with 103 strikeouts in 65.1 IP with a 1.18 ERA.

 

 

 

Chance Mako RHP / East Rowan, NC / 2023 The NC State signee won Conference Pitcher of the Year and pitched the Mustangs to another deep playoff run.

 

 

 

Taylor Batten LHP / West Craven, NC / 2023 The lefty tossed a Perfect Game in February along with 3 CGs on the year. He went 9-0 with a .84 ERA and 107 punch outs.

 

 

 

Dylan Story RHP / High Point Christian, NC / 2023 Went 10-2 on the year with a 1.83 ERA. Story had 100 strikeouts in 61 IP.
