SEASON OUTLOOK

The 2018 Caney Valley Trojans will look to build upon last years solid record and fight their way into the sate tournament this year after making the regional semi-finals a season ago. The Trojans return seven every-day position players and four arms that tossed over 15 innings a piece last year. Three of the returners, Brandon Fogle, Erick McLaughlin, and Trent Gagan, return with all conference honors. Seniors McLaughlin, and Tanner Sellers will likely be the two seniors leading the way.

Offensively, the Trojans will look to Gagan, Chase Brim, McLaughlin to be the catalysts in the lineup. On the mound, left-hander Luke Lakey could captain the staff with deception and command. McLaughlin will be called up again to play a major roll on both sides of the ball. Colton Lewis could round out the front line of the rotation. Defensively, the Trojans will be strongest in the outfield lead by seniors Brandon Fogle and Thatcher McIntosh. Sellers will provide a steady presence behind the plate.
