Oregon Top PRospect Showcase

uncommitted 2021 prospects

Caleb Debban LHP / OF / Tigard, OR / 2021

5-foot-11, 145 pounds with a sloped upper half and room for more weight. Pitched exclusively out of the stretch on this look. Works from the 3rd base side of the rubber. Front leg drives straight up as he stays tall on his backside during leg lift. Hands break down the center of his body. Keeps level shoulders as he works down the slope. Slight cross action at landing. Clean arm path with a straight takeaway. Avoids getting too long or wrapping the ball behind him. Whippy finish out front with aggressive hand speed. Arm action helps him drive the ball downhill and creates easy spin on his breaking ball. Eyes stay on target throughout with a balanced finish.

Jack Fulwiler SS / RHP / Sherwood, OR / 2021

Lean frame with wiry strength at 6-foot, 160 pounds. Starts with a tall, narrow stance in the box. Gathers weight on back side with a low leg lift. Hands show rhythm/movement to sync up with lower half and adjust barrel into a stronger hitting position prior to launching swing. Hands stay tight to body and show quickness into the zone. Stays behind the ball at contact and keeps weight in back hip as he rotates into his finish. Holds posture throughout with a high, 2-handed finish. Wide, balanced set-up in his pre pitch approach on defense, Adjusts his feet to get outside the ball before coming thru with momentum as he funnels in. Short, quick exchange into throwing motion. Tight, compact arm action with a high ¾ release. Adjusted arm slot/release when needed on double play feed and slow rollers, showing body control in the process.

Jackson Koons LHP / Liberty , OR / 2021

Stocky, durable frame at 5-foot-10, 175 pounds. Easy, steady pace to delivery with simple & repeatable throwing actions. Gets into leg lift and then shows some bend in back leg as he pushes down the slope, creating slight shoulder tilt at hand break. Short stride length with clean direction towards target. Shows exceptional body control with a soft, quiet landing and minimal head movement. Understands the intensity he needs to throw at in order to command all of his offerings and keep them around the zone. Overall, threw a very polished bullpen with a FB/CB/CH combination. Clean, compact arm action.

Cameron Parker 1B / 3B / Tigard , OR / 2021

6-foot-3, 170 pounds with a high waisted frame. Wide, slightly crouched set up in the box. Uses a slow weight shift to get onto his backside before taking a low leg kick into forward stride. Hands stay near back shoulder and have a quick, tight shift back before he gets into landing. Consistently made contact out front during BP with a high, lofted finish. Front leg braces up and gives him plenty of leverage to use. Power potential to tap into down the road as he fills out his frame. Defensively, presents a big target at 1b with a wide catch radius. Has to work hard to stay low due to the length in his frame. Hips sink as he gets down to the ball while upper half stays tall. Arm slot varies based on the play. Had a long, full arm path on deeper throws but also could shorten up with turning a 3-6-3 double play.

Danner Salisbury SS / 2B / Stayton , OR / 2021

5-foot-6, 155 pounds with compact, proportional frame. Sets up in a wide, balanced stance in the box with slight bend in his lower half. Front foot is slightly open before he closes off his direction to the pitcher. Short, subtle scap load to pull hands back into hitting position. Launches swing from lower hand placement, just below rear shoulder. Showed best contact middle/oppo during BP. Hands stay tight to the body and allow the barrel to work inside of the ball. Defensively, flashed a low pre-pitch hop in his set-up at SS. Maintains a soft glove hand while receiving the ball. Keeps moving during exchange with a side shuffle towards target. Easy exchange into throws with a quick arm path. Gets thru the ball after release from a low ¾ slot.

Shane Tacla SS / 2B / Wilsonville , OR / 2021

5-foot-11, 160 pounds with an average build throughout his frame. Upright, narrow stance in the box with front leg rotated inward. Knee knock load in his lower half before taking a controlled forward stride. Hands show minimal movement pre-pitch and keep a flat bat angle into landing. Showed a contact type approach in BP. Lets the ball travel into the zone and sprayed to all fields. Low, level finish as he rotates thru contact. Defensively stays active with short, choppy footwork as the ball approaches. Keeps a wide base while funneling in with slight hip hinge to work down to the ball. Side shuffle with a glove tap to create rhythm as he aligns towards his target. Tight arm action with a low ¾ release. Quick exchange on his double play feeds.
