Back to school and back on the field… although most fields around the state were still recovering from the winter storm that dumped some snow.  Never fear the weather in North Carolina as parts of the state were back up to the mid 60’s by mid-week.  On the field, PBR NC held our first winter scout day with the Carolina Vipers out of the Charlotte area.  Below is all the week’s news from January 8 – 15, 2017.

 

THE REWIND:

Prep Baseball Report Events in North Carolina

>> Carolina Viper Organization Scout Day – January 14^th

+  24 Viper Players took part in the Scout Day
+  Players ranged in age from 2018-2020 graduates
+  11 players ran a 30 yard sprint in under 4.20
+  3 infield arms tested above 80mph, with 14 infielders participating
+  2 of the 3 outfield participants showed arm strength at 78mph
+  8 hitters flashed exit velocities of better than 85mph
+  5 pitchers touched  better than 78mph.
