PBR OK Player of the Week: Week Five

Scott Hood
OK/MO/KS/ARK Assistant Scouting Director

Jackson Holliday has gotten to the point in his career where every at bat is a stop what you're doing and watch.  He showed the electricity with the bat this week hitting at a .666 clip with 6 total extra base hits including 5 leaving the park.  He put up a massive game in the big comeback against Union on Tuesday where he left the yard three times in the 18-17 win.  The Oklahoma State signee is already off to a big season and has the possibility of hearing his name early in this Summer's MLB draft especially if he keeps up this level of production for the Pioneers.

Throughout the year we will be highlighting players who have had the best weeks as our Player of the Week and welcome all recommendations from all levels.  Please include a stat line for the week and overall season stats as well.

Scouting Report

6/11/19

A lean and projectable 6-foot, 165-pound frame with some present wiry strength. Offensively, the left-handed hitter shows an elite swing batting from a slightly knock-kneed and back leg heavy set up with rhythm throughout. Uses a moderate and controlled leg kick with a soft stride and slight arm-bar load before launching his hands on a slightly uphill path with hands speed and barrel control. In BP, shows an all field approach with occasional lift, all barrels, 91 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.13 60. Defensively, shows elite hands and advanced feet, makes the slow roller play with athleticism. Throws from a short arm stroke through a ¾ slot with accuracy at 78 mph across the diamond.
