PBR Spotlight Game: Adrian vs DeWitt

Regional 13 champion DeWitt took on Regional 14 champion Adrian in a Quarter final match-up to determine who would advance to the Division 2 semifinals. Adrian is led by 2015 Michigan State commit Matt Clark (pictured right), while DeWitt is an experienced senior led team.

2016 Noah Solis started the game with a bang, slashing a double down the left field line and stealing 3rd base on the next pitch. Solis scored on an infield grounder by 2017 Ty Peck.

Adrian took a 2 -0 lead in the 2nd inning as 2016 Mitchell Dempsey was hit by a pitch, and later scored on 2016 Dario Gauna's RBI single to right field.

DeWitt took advantage early command issues from Adrian pitcher Clark and infield errors scoring 1 run in the bottom of the 2nd.

In the top of the 4th Adrian's lead off hitter reached base on a free pass followed by a single to right field by 2016 Jesse Noce. Clark crushed a double to left field scoring one. The next two hitters were walked bringing in 2 additional runs on wild pitches and walks.

DeWitt's unsigned senior Jared Miller started the bottom of the 4th with a infield single. Unsigned senior Chris Lowe turned on a fastball hitting a double down the left field line scoring Miller. Lowe later scored on a wild pitch.

2016 Tanner Heath of Adrian advanced to 1st on a free pass, and Dempsey singled to right field. Noce drilled a double to center field scoring 2 runs, and Gauna hit a liner to center scoring another run.

Solis and Peck both walked and Clark singled to center in the 5th. Solis scored on a ball that got away from the DeWitt catcher.

Unsigned senior Connor Grice and 2016 Donovan Tarn both singled to left, followed by a walk to 2018 Mark Connelly loading the bases. 2016 Trevor Kapp delivered in the bases loaded situation hitting a texas-leaguer to left scoring 2 for DeWitt.

Adrian scored an additional run in the 7th taking advantage of walks and a passed ball.

Adrian advances to the Division 2 semifinal played at Michigan State University.
