BEREA, OHIO - St. Ignatius scored a run in the second inning and that’s all they needed as the No. 13 Wildcats held on to get a tough 1-0 decision Saturday at Baldwin-Wallace University Field over rival Lakewood St. Edward.

Junior Shane Skuhrovec doubled to left and eventually scored on a line drive up the middle by junior Joe Khoury.

Junior LHP Nick Margevicius took care of the rest after getting a surprise first inning relief appearance for starter senior Tom Rolle, who faced one batter.  It was not disclosed what stiffness caused Rolle’s early departure.

Wildcat sophomore MJ Nara came in to close the game and get the save in the bottom of the seventh.

St. Edward got six hits on the day but couldn’t string any together to push runs across the plate.

St. Edward sophomore LHP Darien Knowles and freshman RHP Jarrett Edwards were impressive on the mound, combining to give up only four hits on the day.
